lilreader@yahoo.com from Jemison, AL , 05/13/98 One of the few Books I Would read Again This book is a true story of a 19 year old boy who is inspired by God to minister to the Motilone indians in South America. The book tells of his life and of his trial he has ministering to the Motilones. The 19 year old boy was captured, caught a few deseases, was very lonely and was tortured, But what he discovered by trial and error has revolutionized the world of missions. If I was looking for a book to read I would consider reading this one. I believe you will read it all at one time. Once you start you can't stop. So order a copy and have a fun time.

tjo@worshipper.com from Northern Michigan, USA , 01/19/98 What happens when a 17 yr. old boy hears God call him? I must agree with the other rave reviews for this book. I like to buy copies and give them to people I love. WARNING! This autobiography can't be pulled away from your eyes once you get into it, and it will remain in your mind and soul forever! I laughed, I cried, and I read it again. Get it, read it, give it away. T.J. FYI: Bruce continued to live with the Motilone Indians and has been instramental in preserving this tribal people. I believe he still lives with this people and is now near his 50s.

SusieJeanSharkey@btinternet.com from Scotland , 01/17/98 If you only read one book, make it this one. I first read this book almost 20 years ago, and it's message is as relevant today to me as when I first read those God inspired pages. Each time I read this book I am reminded of the verse "Unless a corn of wheat fall into the ground and dies it abides alone; but if it dies it brings forth much fruit." Bruce Olson is that corn of wheat which has fallen into the ground and died, and from his life, much fruit has been born for the Glory of God. You will not be able to put this book down; each page will shout at you to read on, read on, read on, and each page will also inspire you too to become as that corn of wheat. It is suitable for both the saved and the unsaved to read.....the unsaved for salvation and the saved for deeper commitment and inspiration. Go on, read it NOW.

At 19 the Lord called Bruce Olson to be a missionary to the Motilone Indians in South America. With nothing more than what he had with him, Bruchko (that is what the indians called him) went into the jungle to bring Christianity to a Stone Age Tribe. Bruchko is a book that will bring tears to your eyes and make you want to jump for joy.

Travels of Faith

Travels of Faith, by Faith Annette Sand
"With an engaging, personal style and a flair for vivid description, Ms. Sand recounts some of her personal adventures in Christian discipleship: from raising eight orphans in the Brazilian jungle to visiting Kampuchean refugees to tracking down Bruce Olson, an extraordinary missionary in the interior of Colombia," says Mark Olson in The Other Side. This "is a colorful account of one woman's remarkable journey from naive missionary kid to contemporary Christian activist and author." Order a copy of ... Travels of Faith

Missionary or Colonizer

Bruce Olson, Missionary or Colonizer?, by Andres Küng
"Bruce Olson is one of the most challenging pieces on a missionary loner in our time. The character of Bruce Olson is finally vindicated but much more than that comes out. Here is an accurate, colorful profile of an Indian tribe in Colombia caught against the background of pressures that almost destroyed them. A missionary classic, must reading for anyone concerned with the true method of carrying the compassion of God to a needy people."

God in the Rain Forest, by "It is Written Television Series"
When a young man named Bruce Olson, wandered into the Colombian rain forest in the 1960s, the last thing he expected to find there was Jesus Christ. But, something remarkable happened as he got to know an isolated group called the Motilones -- as he learned their language, and their culture, and their legends. Bruce seemed to be seeing a startling picture of Jesus Christ -- in the flesh. It began when Bruce found out that these supposedly primitive people had an intense longing for God. Motilones believed that, at one time in their history, they had followed a false prophet and had been led away from God. Read the complete episode in the "It is Written Television Production" at ...
